Say it with me: “paraskavedekatriaphobia”
Do you suffer from paraskavedekatriaphobia? If so, then today is not your day.
For those of you unfamiliar with this 11-syllable word that sounds like some intestinal disease you’d get from drinking bad water, paraskavedekatriaphobia is fear of Friday the 13th—not to be confused with triskaidekaphobia, which is simply fear of the number 13.
That’s my vocabulary lesson for the day.
Happy Friday the 13th, everyone. Watch out for black cats.

Oh my gosh, I didn’t even realize it was Friday the 13th! Shows how superstitious I am! What is the etymology of that word? It sounds almost Greek or something!

Fear of working on a Friday afternoon!

@steph — I can’t say I fear Friday the 13th either. I’m much more leery of full moons … (and I do believe that very long and scary word is indeed Greek)
@friar — I think we ALL suffer from that unfortunate disorder. Here’s a sure-fire remedy: http://www.jupitercolour.co.uk/dvdf/throwpaper.swf
(is that one of your meetings?)

Hahahah! That’s an awesome game! (The simplest video games are often the best).
I think I might need to use that website at work, once in a while!
I have Graphophobia. Look it up. I’m too scared to write it.
